Dear Ainsley...
You officially share a room with your brother now. I think you will both enjoy it for a while anyway. It's obvious you love your brother and you take joy in watching him learn to walk. You keep telling me "Make him do it again!" every time he takes steps as though I had any part in it.
Today, while we were cleaning your room, you kept me entertained by showing me your "really really really really cool dance moves." It makes me want to get you into some dance classes. Maybe I'll look into it here soon.
You finally get to start school soon! Since Mommy has to work, you'll be going to school and I just know you'll love it! I can't wait to watch you grow and blossom!
Love,
Mommy

Your First (and Second) Haircut
Dear Ainsley...
Yesterday you gave yourself your first haircut. I blame myself because you saw me cutting my hair the other day. And then I left you with scissors to take a shower.
We were making a birthday card for Daddy. And when I came back from my shower I told you it was time to put it up so it can dry. Then I noticed a lock of your hair on the table. I asked if you cut your hair and you said yes. I noticed that it was cut on both sides, so I asked if you cut more and you nodded. Then I asked where the hair was, you touched the couch pillow. You had put all the hair in the couch pillow! I should have been mad, but I had to laugh. It was quite amusing. Of course, you must have been extremely upset about it because you became hysterical.

Well, I couldn't live with your personal haircut, so I took you to the salon at Walmart and we got it fixed. The hairdresser asked me if I wanted to do bangs for you and I said I don't know. I had bangs when I was little and I spent two years growing them out and have never wanted to go back. But I asked you and you said you wanted it short in the front. I got teary as the hairdresser kept going shorter and shorter. I know it's just hair and it'll grow back but it's so short now. It is, however very cute! And I loved it at bathtime when it was so easy to wash and brush.

I just hope you learned your lesson and won't be giving yourself a another haircut anytime soon!
Love,
Mommy

Little Miss Know-It-All
Dear Ainsley...
You've started saying things like, "You know, bunnies can't dance, you know." Yes, you definitely know more than I do. I'm sure it will only get worse before it gets better. But, I always knew you were brilliant.
Yesterday you, Oliver, and I went to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church Fall Festival and had a blast. There were bouncies and free food and lots of games. I do believe you thoroughly enjoyed yourself. There was a moment though, when you decided you wanted to go on the 12 feet tall inflatable slide and then when you got to the top you didn't want to come down. You did eventually do it though and immediately wanted to go back on. Silly girl! Hopefully next time Daddy will come!
Love,
Mommy
