Dear Ainsley...
E is for Easy! That's what you should think about the ABCs, but you turn it into such a battle. You're smarter than that!
I had a great time on our walk this morning and playing with you at the little playground by our apartment this afternoon. I really wish you would stop torturing the dog, cat, and your brother. They don't go under clothes baskets, and your potty seat does not go around Oliver's head, no matter that he keeps putting it in the tub. I love the little tent you created under the table. You're so creative!
I don't know why you're so itchy. I hope it's not scabies. That would not be fun! Hopefully our car gets fixed tomorrow so we can go look for coupons at Publix! I love you!
Love,
Mommy

Not such a good day.
Dear Ainsley...
Today was a rough day for you. I don't know if you were having an off day or what. First you didn't want to work on your D's. I know you can do them, you traced them brilliantly. But when it came time to write them on your own, you plead dumb. It's just not true! I'm sorry if I seem like a hard teacher, but I don't really know what I'm doing any more than you do. I just want you to try hard. I know you can do it!
Then you wouldn't listen to Daddy and me at lunch and ended up in a time out in your room with a canceled "picnic." Maybe tomorrow. I realize I say that entirely too often.
You had a good nap, thus a very good quiet time. You even ate all your dinner and got some ice cream! Yay! But then you put up a fight when it came time to bedtime. Ah well. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Maybe tomorrow.
Love,
Mommy

An Introduction
Dear Ainsley...
I wish I'd thought of this sooner. I got the idea from someone on one of my message boards who keeps a running diary for her daughter. I wanted to keep this as letters to you. I will be starting one for your brother as well. I want to write up all the things we do together, all the funny things you say, all your accomplishments, so you can one day come back and read it.
You are an amazing little girl. Smart and funny and energetic. You are my little Coupon Monster! I will be trying to write something daily and maybe post some pictures as well. I love you!
